BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The University of Tennessee student chapter of Society of American Foresters brought home another quiz bowl win after the Kentucky-Tennessee SAF meeting.
Seven students from the chapter won the quiz bowl with more than 3,000 points after establishing an early lead while answering multiple rounds of technical and historical questions. Madeline Hall, Jared Beeler, UT Chapter Vice President Kayla Stuart, Matthew Barnicki, Drew Bledsoe, Will Hatcher and UT Chapter President Kyle Hanners made up the Tennessee team.
The group faced students from the University of Kentucky and the University of the South. This comes after the student chapter won the Society of American Foresters Quiz Bowl at the national convention in September.
During the Jan. 25-27 meeting, Stuart also received the KTSAF Scholarship after being elected by the UT forestry faculty.
The students got the chance to network with forestry professionals and peers and ask a diverse panel of professionals for career advice during a special student mentoring session.
Graduate students Melody Mount, Andrew Franks and Nash Spencer also attended the meeting.
