The UT Office of the Provost honored School of Natural Resources and Center for Renewable Carbon Professor David Harper with the award at the Academic Honors Banquet on May 1.

The Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year Award goes to faculty members who show outstanding commitment to mentoring undergraduate research students.

“Good mentors serve as role models in the process of research and discovery, for the responsible conduct of research, and for entry into the profession through networking and research dissemination,” John Zomchick, UT Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor said in a congratulation letter to Harper. He added the honor shows how highly regarded Harper is by those who nominated him and the selection committee.

Materials Science and Engineering graduate student Melanie Moczadlo and two other officers from the student organization SLOPE (Service Learning and Outreach with 3D Printers for Engineers) accepted the 2024 Extraordinary Community Service Award at the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet on April 30. Harper is her advisor.

Congratulations to them!
