Twenty-five undergraduate scientists, including seven SNR students, took part in the poster celebration for the Herbert Experiential Research Opportunities Program on Monday in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Building.
Topics ranged from the fungus that causes white-nose syndrome in bats to food engineering. Students explained their research and answered questions from faculty, staff, and fellow students. SNR students Kara Haynes, Darby Hood, Chy’elle Johnson, Cheyenne Mireles, Skylynn Pastorello, Evan Pierce, and Maisy Williams presented their research.
Adam Willcox, HERO Program coordinator and SNR research professor, organized the poster celebration for students to receive constructive feedback on their work.
The HERO Program supports Herbert undergraduate students pursuing experiential research opportunities. It provides an hourly stipend and travel and/or equipment costs on a semester-by-semester basis.
