Twelve UT students earned their hunter safety certification on Sept. 17. Over a three-day course, they learned about firearm safety, hands-on hunting skills, tree stand safety, and conservation ethics.
They received the certifications after meeting requirements set by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Now, they can legally hunt in the state.
The UT student chapter of Ducks Unlimited worked with Outdoor Recreation Extension Specialist Ronnie Cowan to host the course.
