State lawmakers approved the nomination of Urban Forestry Professor Sharon Jean-Philippe for a second term on the Tennessee Forestry Commission on Feb. 24 and 25.

Jean-Philippe appeared before the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee on Tuesday and the Senate Energy, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Committee on Wednesday. Both committees voted to approve her nomination.

Graduate student Kayla Stuart joined Jean-Philippe in Nashville to show her support.
